About the Author

Dr. Walsh is a postdoctoral research fellow in Cancer Prevention and Control at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, supported by a National Cancer Institute training fellowship. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fordham University and has training in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and existential approaches to treatment. Her clinical experience includes working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), emotion regulation difficulties, and the psychological challenges associated with medical illness. Dr. Walsh's research focuses on the psychosocial experiences of patients with advanced cancer and their caregivers, with particular interests in prognostic understanding, uncertainty, and physician-patient communication. She has completed clinical and research training at institutions including Massachusetts General Hospital, Mount Sinai, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in psycho-oncology and behavioral health.
